Salvia Rosmarinus: A Comprehensive Review of its Phytochemical Composition and Pharmacological Properties

Rahal El Kahkahi*, Meryama Moustaine and Rachid Zouhair

Sacred since Antiquity for its virtues, the use of Rosemary has continued through the ages as an aromatic and medicinal plant. Today, it is an interesting alternative to environmental issues in the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetics. Rosemary, native to the Mediterranean basin, is a branchy, bushy evergreen shrub with persistent leaves. In this review we have established a monograph on Salvia Rosmarinus, that is the botanical description, the taxonomic classification, its origin and distribution, and their benefits, and the chemical constituents of the essential oil.
